GPH just officially announced their new handheld - The Wiz!



The most interesting thing is the Flash Player (Flash 7.0 compatible) and the planned release of commercial games.

It has a LiIon battery built-in - and finally a place for the stylus! And a nice OLED display.
If everything works as planned, it will be shipped in mid October.

It's on similar lines to the Gameboy micro. I like the glossy black look. Not to sure about the double dpads but I'm sure they'll grow on me. Apparently it's gonna cost around £135ish

Might grab myself one even though I've just bought the GP2X F200. It arrives tomorow hopefully.. I'm also waiting on a Pandora when it finally comes out.

Never heard of them but it does look good.

The only thing is, how is it gonna beat the DS etc. is it gonna have the games and are they gonna be any good.
The questions are prob cos i have no idea what this is

It's mainly for the homebrew/emulators, opensource crowd although supposedly there will be proper games made for it. Don't think Nintendo has anything to worry about but a bit of competition wouldn't hurt.

Ah i see, i guess this would be rather good then.
For instance right now i've just downloaded the old Monkey Island games. These types of games would be played on this. I'd buy one just for those games

A little update for the Wiz..

Both are made by the same company but Pandora is a project designed by a forum and made by a few guys on the Gp2x forum and not by GamePark, if you know what I mean.

The WIZ is made by the guys at GamePark but people on the Gp2x forum said that the second dpad on the Wiz wouldn't work so EvilDragon told Gamepark what everyone had said so they've changed the design to please everyone on the forum. They had to admit in the end that it was a stupid mistake. So really you may aswell say there different companies even though there the same.

I may get a Wiz but only after I get my Pandora coz it's gonna be a wicked handheld...
