Not sure how many of you follow boxing but i'm a big fan and it's bloody great too see the big name fighters finally all fighting each other.
And in doing so some great fights have come of it. Firstly Calzaghe beat the Dane Kessler which wasn't the best fight to watch but what we did see was vintage Calzaghe. on easy imo but we also saw what i believe the future king of that division. Then we had the unconvincing David Haye, don't get me wrong he's good and can bang but he leaves his left hand way too low for my liking and will get ko'd once again by some big hitter. And finally the Cotto vs Mosely fight. It' didn't fail to deliver in my eyes and was a joy to watch. Both fighters went at it for pretty much the whole twelve rounds. Cotto was the winner by points and pretty much deservedly so too. Now we just wait the fight of the century "Mayweather vs Hatton" |

As ya know a big fan myself and this year has been a great year for Boxing as a whole as well as British boxing several of our fighters have either became new Champions or picked new and extra straps. Right now theres several divisions that are under Britannia rule: Calzaghe Undisputed crown Maccarinelli and Haye currently owning 3 of the top 4 titles, Clinton Woods current IBF chmpion who could potentially clean up the division next year, Gavin Rees (WBA) & Junior Witter (WBC) champs at Light Welterweight and Hatton (currently without a strap though undoubtedly the best in the LWW division).
Worldwide theres been some super fights too Pavlik Vs Taylor Springs to mind immediately and Cotto Vs Mosley happened this weekend, Mayweather Vs De La Hoya, Cotto Vs Judah just to name a few. Boxing has it's ups and downs this year was deffo an Up year and already next year looks promising. |
