Default Network question please.

Hi ! I Don't expect an explanation, I'm just looking for a pointer really. I have two desktop PC's both hard wired to a wireless router. Also a laptop wirelessly connected. All is fine. However, I'd like to network the two desktop PC's to transfer downloads for burning etc. I'm not too worried about the laptop at this stage, that can come later. Trouble is none of the pc's have a floppy drive. Any suggestions please ? Is there easier to use networking software than Windows out there ? Or am I stuck with a wizard that asks for a floppy disk ? Many thanks in advance !

You can do it without a floppy m8. Problem is I did it so long ago I can't remember exactly how it's done lol. I think you basically have to share the folders with your network e.g. a downloads folder or a full drive for the other computers to see them.

With XP and SP2 you can transfer settings by USB stick using wireless set up wizard.

Thanks I've got the prog but to be honest my set up is legit ! Some of the cracks going around I don't trust. I will try it but only in demo mode then see if I can get it from a trusted source. Thanks again for any input.

I have 4 pcs all on xp and networked using xp network wizard. Easy as pie no need for any other software. I now have about 15 hard drives in My Computer so I can store and retrieve stuff from any pc in the house.

yep I didn't need a floppy drive at all. Just add each drive to each pc through Map Network Drive

I still haven't had time to get all set up yet. In truth I don't download that much any more so my previous desire has made way for other things like getting up and going to work, coming home and eating ! What a life ! Thanks again for your advice though... I will get it sorted as it's something that does interest me...

Well I finally got round to setting up Radmin. It's pretty straight forward. Just install the server on the host pc and the viewer on the other. Then type in the IP addy and you're away ! Got complete control of my desktop pc via me lappy. It's handy cos I can stop Utorrent or other leeching when I'm viewing streamed data and then start it up again a bit later. One issue is that trying to view media. There's no sound ? Is this normal or can it be fixed ? I'm transferring a DVD rip from upstairs and it's quite fast took about 5mins... If anyone wants a copy I'll zip it up for rapidshare.. It is cracked but I'm in demo mode so can't say if the patch works as yet...
